“Re-Machined: A Tribute to Machine Head”

A collection of rock and metal musicians are lending their talents to an album honoring Deep Purple’s benchmark 1972 release, “Machine Head.” The collection will be released exclusively along with a new “fanpack” issue of the U.K.’s Classic Rock magazine. 

The album, “Re-Machined: A Tribute to Machine Head,” will offer cover versions of all of the tracks on the original album performed by Metallica, Iron Maiden, the Flaming Lips, Papa Roach’s Jacoby Shaddix, Def Leppard’s Joe Elliott, Chickenfoot, Carlos Santana, former Deep Purple bass player Glenn Hughes, guitarist Steve Vai and ex-Guns N’ Roses members Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum.

The set also features two unique versions of two of Deep Purple’s greatest hits: “Smoke on the Water” and “Highway Star.” Shaddix and Santana put their spin on one version of “Smoke,” while the Flaming Lips take a stab at another versions. “Highway Star” gets remade by Chickenfoot and a slew of musicians, Hughes, Vai and Red Hot Chili Peppers and Chickenfoot drummer Chad Smith.

Linkin Park "Lost In The Echo"

Living Things is the fifth studio album by the American rock band Linkin Park. It was released under Warner Bros. Records and Machine Shop Recordings on June 20, 2012, in Japan and throughout the rest of the world during the following week. Production was handled by vocalist Mike Shinoda and Rick Rubin, who both co-produced the band's previous two studio albums Minutes to Midnight (2007) and A Thousand Suns (2010).

The band states that Living Things combines elements from their previous four studio albums to create a new sound. They stated they finally felt they were in "familiar territory" and "comfortable in [their] own skin" after years of experimentation that resulted in their two previous studio albums, Minutes to Midnight and A Thousand Suns.Living Things was chosen as the album's title because of the numerous personal topics on the album.

The lead single for the album, "Burn It Down", was sent to radio and released to digital music retailers on April 16, 2012. Living Things debuted at number one on Billboard 200 with sales of 223,000 copies in the United States in its opening week.

"Lost in the Echo" was released as the second single. The song was written by the band and produced by co-lead vocalist Mike Shinoda and Rick Rubin.

Slapshock "Langit"

Slapshock is the thunderous sound of Filipino metal. Composed of four diversely skilled musicians, the band was forged in the musically rich landscape of the University in the Philippines in 1997. Slapshock emerged during the heyday of rap-metal in the USA and in the Philippines, becoming a pioneer of the movement and being responsible for its rise. While some would be in danger of being pegged in one genre, the band has stayed put in Pinoy rock’s consciousness for the past 13 years because of their evolving but always explosive sound. Slapshock draws you in with a concord of unforgettable and haunting sounds, only to have your senses assaulted with ragged and raw power.

After doing shows in almost all parts of the country, the band stepped on a new plain and completed a USA-Canada Tour in June to July 2009. Slapshock toured the cities of San Francisco, San Diego, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Baltimore and Virginia, and the Canadian cities of Toronto, Winnipeg and Vancouver. In another nonreplicable feat, Slapshock has shared the stage with big names in metal like Death Angel, Sepultura, Shadows Fall, The Darkest Hour, Trivium, Lamb of God and Testament.

Not inclined in any way to slow down, Slapshock became one of the founding members of the Asian super group PROJECT E.A.R. (East Asian Revolution). The latter is a collaboration of top artists from Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore and the Philippines, which debuted during the 2009 MTV Asian Music Awards.

This year 2012 marks a milestone for the band. They are officially 15 years in the music industry and they are getting stronger as ever. They released the much anticipated and highly acclaimed album KINSE KALIBRE.  Their 1st single NGAYON NA became an instant hit and dominated the MYX Daily Charts. It became the #1 song for 3 straight weeks even beating local and international pop artists.

Thousands of Slapshock CDs have been sold, and played over and over. Thousands of fans have screamed their name and anthems. But one number makes the most impression: 15. Fifteen years and they are the only band still standing and actively playing among their contemporaries. Fifteen years of withstanding changing genres and music popularity with the same core members intact. Need for Speed: Most Wanted

Need for Speed: Most Wanted takes on the gameplay style of the first Most Wanted title in the Need for Speed franchise. Most Wanted allows players to select one car and compete against other racers to reach a destination. Cops are integrated into certain racing sessions, in which the police deploy vehicles and tactics to stop the player's car and arrest the player, like the original Most Wanted. The single-player section will feature a Blacklist of 10 racers, similar to the single-player section of the original Most Wanted, which featured 15 Blacklist racers.

Most Wanted has been likened to Criterion's Burnout series, and has a large open world. Like Burnout Paradise, races have a start and end point but players can choose their own route to the finish line.

The game will use Autolog, the competition-between-friends system developed by Criterion for Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, and since used in other titles in the Need for Speed series. Autolog in Most Wanted plays a larger role and gives more information to players. Activities in-game allow players to earn Speed Points which can boost players up on Most Wanted list. Autolog recommendations have now been integrated into the game world, rather than sit externally on the menu system.

The driving model of the game has been described as "deep, physical and fun", not as arcade-styled as the Burnout series and Hot Pursuit, but far from a simulator. Most Wanted has a range of real-world vehicles, a mix of muscle cars, street racers and exotics, described as "the wildest selection of cars yet". The cars can be altered with performance upgrades and visual upgrades, such as paint colors, wheels, suspensions, engine, nitrous, and bodywork (body kits).
